Featherkite takes Tiverton RFC Junior Section’s Digital Presence to the Next Level
We’re thrilled to announce that Featherkite has renewed its partnership with the Tiverton RFC Junior Section for the 2025/26 season!
What began as a volunteer role to help the club’s digital presence has evolved into a fully-fledged and official partnership. For the past two seasons, Featherkite has been helping the Tiverton RFC Junior Section build a strong online community. We’ve managed their ‘Parents Handbook’ website, set up their Instagram and Facebook accounts, and handled all real-time social media updates – from in-match announcements to training schedules and special events.
The success of last season’s campaigns, which saw a significant increase in online engagement and community participation, has set the stage for an even more ambitious year ahead.
A Strategic Start: Elevating the Visuals
This season, we kicked things off early with a strategic move: a professional photoshoot for the Colts team. Knowing the power of high-quality visuals, I hired the incredibly talented photographer Abbie Trayler-Smith to capture a whole library of studio-quality images.
The results were fantastic, and they’ll serve as the foundation for our new content strategy for 25/26, along with any action shots taken by the ever reliable Graham. These dynamic photos not only showcase our players but also ensure our sponsors’ logos are clearly visible from multiple angles, providing them with invaluable exposure.
We also designed two new playing kits for the Juniors, – once again manufactured by the fantastic Kitworld, using their #MAKO brand – with the ‘white’ kit just edging the vote and getting ordered.
Building Relationships with Sponsors
A core part of our strategy is to shift the focus from a simple sponsorship donation to an active, mutually beneficial partnership.
By creating targeted, branded posts that feature sponsors, we’re building a bridge between the club and local businesses. This approach encourages sponsors to share our content, increasing their own brand visibility and fostering a stronger sense of community. Our goal is to ensure that a partnership with the club is a continuous, year-round conversation, not just a one-time transaction.
The Road Ahead
This season, Featherkite will continue to manage the Junior Section’s social media on a pro-bono basis, but our ultimate goal is to expand this model to the entire club. We believe a unified and professional #oneclub digital presence for both the Junior and Senior teams would create a powerful commercial platform.
There is huge potential to build a greater commercial presence both at the club and online, and we look forward to working with the club to achieve that.
Lessons in Digital Partnership
This partnership has been a fantastic learning experience for Featherkite. From organizing and art-directing a professional photoshoot to building relationships with sponsors and analyzing the performance of different post types, every step has provided valuable insights.
We’re excited to apply these learnings – about community engagement, visual strategy, and relationship-building – to all our current and future clients, helping them create their own successful campaigns and build a stronger online presence.
