The Ash Stud
Situated in Devon, on the edge of Dartmoor, the Ash stud was established in 2010 to breed outstanding sport horses capable of competing at the highest level. I visited the stud and met with the owner, Jana Khayat. I had been recommended to Jana by a former client, the incredibly talented Equine Photographer Fiona Crawford.
I soon discovered that good websites for horse studs are even rarer than studs based in the UK – so I was excited about building the best website in the market, particularly as i had a steady flow of top notch imagery from Fiona to play with! Jana wanted the site to be simple and clean, with a clear reference to each horse’s bloodline. It was this bloodline that became the kernel of my logo design and the palette for the entire web build. I chose a bold, clean font and added a simple graphic to show off the bloodline, mindful that it could be used as an icon on social media etc without losing it’s identity.
